healthcare-meditatorSelf-care for nurses is not pampering, a luxury, or an extravagance. Plain and simple, it is routine maintenance for the body, mind, and spirit. If you’re not actively engaging in it, you are not working to your highest potential. Even worse, you are on a fast track to burnout and worse. When you neglect yourself, you also neglect, on some level, those you serve. Fill your own well first and you’ll have more to give others.
