When does the retreat start/end?
Our opening workshop is on the evening of Thursday, January 25 at 7 p.m. (see the schedule for earlier optional networking/dinner). Our closing circle will be Sunday, January 28 at 11 a.m. That is a total of three resort nights.
Who should attend?
All nurses at every stage of their careers including RNs, LPN/LVNs, advanced practice nurses – whether employed, unemployed, self-employed, retired, or student.
Do I have to make my own reservation to stay at Miraval?
Yes. Click here for more information about rates.
Is there an additional cost to attend the workshop?
Yes. Your investment is $499. for the workshop portion which includes 9.5 ANCC contact hours. You or one of your guests must be registered for the workshop to take advantage of the discounted resort rate we negotiated. A limited number of scholarships are available. Contact us for more details.
Would it be appropriate to bring a spouse or friend who is not attending the workshop?
Absolutely and I encourage it! There is plenty to do (including golf, horseback riding, relaxing at the pool, classes, etc.) while you are in workshop sessions. Likewise, you will have plenty of free time to spend with your guests or by yourself if you so choose!
Are children allowed at Miraval?
No one under the age of 18 is permitted on the grounds.
What if I’d love to come but really can’t afford it right now?
Where there is a will there is always a way. We always find the time and money for the things that are truly important to us. If you don’t have the personal funds, ask for the trip (or part of it) as a gift from family or close friends. Asking for what you want and need is part of being an empowered nurse! Set a goal to be part of this event and you will find a way to make it happen. Sharing a room will also help to reduce your cost.
Will continuing education credits be offered for nurses?
Yes! This activity has been approved for 9.5 contact hours by NJSNA. New Jersey State Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission On Accreditation.* These are ANCC credits and are widely accepted in all states.
Can I deduct any of the expenses associated with this continuing education conference on my taxes?
This is a question for your tax preparer but it is possible that part of these expenses will be deductible as an education expense if you itemize on your taxes.
What if I want to stay a few extra days before or after the retreat – can I do that and still get the discounted group rate?
Additional nights may be possible based on availability. If you wish to stay additional nights before or after our event, please let me know as soon as possible so I can try to arrange that for you. The resort has regularly been filling up and selling out!
