We often think in terms of where we are now in life/career and where we still want to go. But we forget about how far we’ve already come. Take time to write down past accomplishments, successes, triumphs, and obstacles overcome. This might include getting through school, surviving a serious illness, getting a promotion at work, raising great kids, moving on after a relationship breakup, and so on.

It may take some time to compile a comprehensive list but it’s worth the time and effort. When you focus on what you’ve already done, it will give you strength and courage to keep moving forward. Your past successes will help to propel you forward. When you accomplish something new, add it to the list!
