Many people have quoted Steve Jobs over the last few years: “Your time is limited so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. ”
But here’s the rest of the quote: “Don’t be trapped by dogma which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
In summary: When you follow your heart, the rest will work itself out.

I could not agree more Donna. In my experience, both personally and with people I’ve helped, passion is an essential ingredient to a rewarding career. I would also caution people to not always believe what I hear some motivational speakers preach…”follow your passion and the money will come.” While sometimes this is true, to turn your passion into a full time career requires a market for that passion. Passion + skill/talent + market = rewarding career. Without ‘market’ all you really have is an enjoyable and rewarding hobby!
